GETTING HERE
The Sage development includes a 1000-space multi-storey state of the art car park so you can easily access everything the area has to offer, while knowing your vehicle is safe and secure.
With The Sage set to be home to some of the biggest events in the region, the car park has been designed for ease when arriving and leaving an event, and also benefits from Park Mark accreditation providing safer parking for all.
50 electronic vehicle (EV) charging points will be available in the car park which also benefits from a photovoltaic roof and other ecology measures, reflecting our commitment to sustainability. What’s more, we’ve specifically designed our car park with the ability to convert an additional 300 spaces – including WAV spaces – for EV use as demand increases.
The MSCP has been designed to be accessible for all with lift access, pedestrian access, four Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) spaces, and in addition further disabled spaces are available at the Sage Gateshead car park right next door.
Plans to enhance the streetscapes and pedestrian access surrounding The Sage have been taken into consideration during the planning phases. Such improvements will bring wider pavements, clearer navigation and will encourage visitors and local residents to use the public realm and green spaces.
QuayLink bus service – connecting Newcastle city centre and Gateshead with the Quayside area provides a high-quality, environmentally friendly operation. The QuayLink route provides easy hop on, hop off access to The Sage. For larger events and exhibitions, private shuttle buses will be in operation to manage the traffic of people and for ease of access.
Whether by bus, metro or train, Newcastle and Gateshead are compact cities where public transport options are plentiful. With stops just minutes away from The Sage as well as Gateshead Stadium, and with special day passes and rates across both the Metro and QuayLink buses, you’ll have lots of variety and choices about when and where you travel.
And for those visitors travelling from further afield, Newcastle International Airport serves over 5 million passengers with flights to 67 destinations in 25 countries.
